The chaise longue has a long and distinguished history in the world of furnishings. This streamlined piece by Shimna is the bridge between the past and the future. Comfortable, elegant in its simplicity, and fashioned from natural materials, we see this as the obvious choice for a twenty-first century pharaoh or someone who just wants to feel like one. This piece was handmade by New York design company Shimna. When we saw Shimna's creations from across a crowded room, we were hooked and reeled in. But while it was clear they shared our interest in high design, it was even more thrilling to discover that they shared our philosophy of sustainability and environmental protection: Shima products are bench-made in the USA using locally produced components wherever possible to keep the carbon footprint low. They offer 100% natural fabrics in vibrant colors produced by environmentally improved manufacturing processes without the need for heavy metal dyes. Most of the wood is locally sourced from family-owned lumberyards using traditional and sustainable harvesting techniques. The wood is constructed and fabricated using only water-based adhesives and finishes. Internal padding is 100% cotton. Spring systems are long-lasting and recyclable. Chaise is is 86" x 34" and can be custom ordered in left- and right-facing configurations. Pricing and Shipping Notes The above prices are discounted if customer provides fabric. Shimna sofas, chairs, and beds are custom upholstered in a variety of fabrics and require eight to ten weeks for delivery. Local white glove delivery (including placement, assembly, and packaging removal) is FREE. Local delivery is within 50 miles of our Baltimore, MD location, including Washington, DC and Northern Virginia. If you would like white glove delivery outside of our local area, please add a $250 flat fee.
